Parada de carretera en la Panamericana Sur, a la entrada de Ica · · $$
Restaurante La Estación
Why we recommend it
It sits on the Pan-American Highway South at kilometre marker 307, in the district of Los Aquijes at the entrance to Ica: a roadside restaurant with its own parking, a terrace and open-air tables, built for people driving to or back from Paracas and Nasca. The menu is generous Peruvian home cooking; among the dishes Google flags as popular are the milanesa a lo pobre and the papa a la huancaína, while reviews name the pallares, the corvina, the tacu tacu and the arroz con pato. Our read: this is not a dining destination but an efficient, well-run stop — it opens at 9 am, has free wifi, allows dogs inside and out, and parking is easy, which is exactly what you want from the highway. Watch the hours, which run counter to expectation: Monday to Friday it closes at 22:00, but Saturday and Sunday it closes at 18:00. Curation note: the house has no website or verifiable social accounts, so the phone number and hours come from the Google listing.
