La Lucha Sanguchería Criolla
Why we recommend it
This branch is at Av. José Larco 999, on the last stretch of the avenue, between the bustle of Larco and the malecón, with some outdoor tables. The brand was founded in August 2009 in Miraflores by César Taboada, an accountant born in Catacaos, with an American partner, and today has outlets in several Peruvian cities and abroad. The menu revolves around Creole sandwiches —pan con chicharrón and turkey, with wood-oven roasted meats and house-baked bread—, plus fresh juices and chicha morada. Our take: it is the most convenient Lucha for anyone walking down Larco toward the sea; the chain's same formula, no surprises, with hours that run from breakfast to a night out. According to the house it opens daily from 8:00, until midnight Sunday to Thursday, until 2:00 on Fridays and until 3:00 on Saturdays; Google notes it does not take reservations, is suitable for children and that street parking is somewhat hard to find. Curation note: the official website is under construction and the house does not publish a phone number per branch; the hours come from the official schedule document linked from its Instagram.
