Q DE LIMA

Q de Lima occupies the corner of Jr. Camaná 900 and Jr. Quilca in downtown Lima, the venue a 2020 RPP article described as Queirolo de Lima, founded in 1920 and frequented by writers and poets; today it is run by Bodega Queirolo and calls itself «El Emblemático Q de Lima». The house highlights creole dishes such as ají de gallina, seco with beans and tacu tacu, and keeps separate day, night and drinks menus. Our take: it is a historic cantina that still works as one, worth more for its atmosphere and bohemian tradition than for any ambitious cooking. It opens from 9:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
