About Parque del Amor

Parque del Amor is on the Malecón Cisneros, in Miraflores, on top of the Costa Verde cliffs. The Miraflores city government opened it on 14 February 1993, Valentine's Day, and at its centre is El Beso, the sculpture of a reclining couple by Peruvian artist Víctor Delfín; in an interview with Gestión, Delfín recalls that the work began as a small piece and that the poet Arturo Corcuera persuaded other poets to put verses on the park's walls. Our take: it is a stop on a walk along the malecón rather than a park to linger in, and it is best at sunset, for the sea view. It is a public space with free access; Google says dogs are allowed. Curation note: we found no official opening hours from the municipality, so none are listed.
