About Museo Taurino de la Plaza de Acho
The Museo Taurino is inside the Plaza de Toros de Acho, at Jr. Hualgayoc 332, in Rímac, and is run by the Sociedad de Beneficencia de Lima, which owns the bullring. According to the Beneficencia, it keeps historic bullfighting objects: oil paintings of bullfights and posters from the first events at Acho, suits of lights donated by the bullfighters themselves, photographs, and works by Roberto Domingo, Carlos Ruano Llopis and Jean Cocteau, plus lithographs by Pablo Picasso. Our take: it is as interesting for the collection as for the excuse to step inside Acho outside the season, and it works even if you are not a bullfighting fan, provided you care about Rímac's history. It opens Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, according to the Beneficencia's recent posts. General admission is S/ 8; children up to 12 S/ 2; seniors, CONADIS card holders and Rímac residents S/ 3; a guided tour costs S/ 55 and a camera permit S/ 11. Curation note: prices come from the Acho page on the Beneficencia website, which gives no update date.
