Claustro

Claustro has spent more than twenty years inside the Santa Catalina Monastery, the colonial citadel that is Arequipa's essential visit, and it calls itself a trattoria: pasta, lasagne and tagliatelle crossed with Arequipa produce, plus a bar that does well by the pisco sour and a wine list Google singles out. It works two sittings — one to three and half past six to half past ten — and Sundays at midday only. Our read: its advantage and its trap are the same, that it sits inside the monastery: it fills with visitors during tour hours, so the best table is the evening one, once the sillar courtyard empties.
