El centro de investigación y comedor de Virgilio Martínez frente a Moray, a 3.568 msnm · · $$$$
MIL Centro
Why we recommend it
It sits on the road to Moray, inside the archaeological zone in Maras, at 3,568 metres above sea level according to the house itself. Virgilio Martínez and his team run it, and it does not present itself as a restaurant but as an interpretation centre and laboratory: the website speaks of "immersions" starting at 9:30 in the morning and of a lunch running from 12 to 2:30, with the menu built on Andean and Amazonian produce. Our read: the timetable is the statement of principle — a single service hour a day, Tuesday to Sunday, reservation required — and that moves it out of restaurant territory and into that of the scheduled visit; the spend diners report, more than S/ 200 per person, and the Moray terraces in front complete the picture. Google literally marks "reservations required", so the entry carries reservations as mandatory. It has a bar, its own parking, an accessible entrance and toilets, and a children's menu. The entry records a 2025 Summum nomination for Restaurant of Cusco and a 2026 Premios Somos nomination in the Cusco Region category. Curation note: the directory entry carried no address. The website publishes neither opening year nor a menu with prices, so the menu remains pending. Google marks delivery as unavailable.
