It occupies the first courtyard of the Claustros de la Compañía, at Gral. Morán 118, with open-air tables under the arcades and vaulted sillar rooms inside. The menu is Arequipa picantería fare: among the dishes Google flags as popular are malaya dorada and rocoto relleno with potato pastel, and the house also runs a cocktail bar and a dessert list. Our read: this is the picantería put in a shop window for the historic centre, with the same old cooking but restaurant-style service and a postcard address, so it works better as a first Arequipa stop than as a picantería pilgrimage. It opens Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 20:00 and Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00, closes early, and accepts reservations without requiring them; Google warns that parking nearby is hard to find.
